November 14, 2019, marked a significant day in Kenya's political landscape as the Kibra by-election results were announced, with ODM's Bernard Okoth emerging victorious.

However, the jubilation was short-lived as Deputy President William Ruto took to social media to express his discontent, sparking a heated debate.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has since taken aim at Ruto's behavior, accusing him of making unnecessary noise and displaying emotions on his social media posts.

According to Sifuna, Ruto's anger stems from the party's significant spending on the campaign of Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga, who came in second in the elections.

“Hii hasira yote ya @williamsRuto ni juu watu walikula pesa yake. Nilisema hapa Nairobi ma yengs hukula pesa zetu na hatusumbuani hata after Jonte flani kupewa vitu. Inauma but inabidi uzoee. At this rate tutatoa Paybill number turudishie huyu jamaa pesa yake aache kulialia,” Sifuna tweeted.

As the debate rages on, Kenyans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the matter, with some questioning Ruto's behavior and others defending his right to express himself.
