On November 14, 2019, a disturbing message began circulating on social media, allegedly from a Facebook account linked to Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

However, Waiguru has since disowned the account, calling it fake and urging the public to ignore its contents.

The parody account warned Kenyans of their impending doom, stating that everyone is going to die of cancer sooner or later due to contaminated foods.

According to the post, the country's greed has led to this predicament, rendering long-term plans for Kenya unnecessary.

"We are all dying. It's no longer a question of who has cancer, it's now a question of who does NOT have cancer yet. There's nothing you consume today that isn't contaminated. We are paying for being stupid and greedy, we are paying for choosing material wealth over our health," the post read.

Waiguru responded by posting a screenshot of the account with the word 'fake' stamped across it.
