On November 14, 2019, Johanna Omolo, a midfielder for Harambee Stars and Cercle Brugge, was honored for his contributions to society through the 'Johanna Omolo Foundation' football for good program.

Omolo's efforts have not gone unnoticed, as he was awarded the prestigious FIFPro Merit Award 2019, along with a $25,000 (KSh 2.5 million) prize.

The Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) received the cheque on behalf of Omolo, who hails from the Dandora slums in Kenya.

KEFWA, an association that advocates for players' rights, praised Omolo for his achievement, saying, "Congratulations @luchyboy and @Omolofoundation who turns out for @cercleofficial for winning @FIFPro Merit award 2019. Keep on the good work,"

Omolo's win marked the 12th time the FIFPro Award has been given, with him being the third African player to receive the honor.
