Published on November 14, 2019, Tanzania's artiste regulatory board Basata imposed a six-month ban on Rosa Ree, a young Tanzanian singer, from making music.

The ban was a result of Rosa Ree's involvement in a song called 'Vitamin U' with Kenyan musician Timmy Tdat, which was deemed too explicit by Basata.

According to reports, Rosa Ree was advised to face the music board sooner rather than later, as hiding in Kenya would not provide her with long-term protection.

Basata's decision was announced in a statement, which read: 'Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (Basata) limemfungia msanii wa Bongofleva nchini Tanzania, Rozaree kutojihusisha na muziki kwa miezi 6 kutokana na video ya wimbo wa Vitamin U aliyoshirikishwa na msanii Timmy Tdat wa Kenya.'
