Published on November 14, 2019, Arsenal's poor run of form has left manager Unai Emery under immense pressure.
Emmanuel Petit, a former Gunners midfielder, has joined the chorus of fans and pundits calling for Emery's sacking.
Speaking to Paddy Power, Petit stated, "I believe it’s time for Unai Emery to leave Arsenal. The results are not good at all. I don’t recognise this team any more and I don’t recognise this club any more."
Petit also expressed his desire to see a former Arsenal player take over as manager, suggesting Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira as potential successors.
"People may laugh at me but I wouldn’t mind seeing a former player on the bench. Is there a former Arsenal great you can call, like Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira," Petit noted.
The Gunners are currently sixth in the league standings with 17 points, eight off the top four, and will look to turn around their fortunes when they host struggling Southampton after the international break.
