November 14, 2019, marked a significant shift in the views of Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abudullahi, a Jubilee Party lawyer, regarding the 2022 presidential election. In a recent tweet, he confessed that Raila Odinga would have a huge advantage over any candidate, including DP William Ruto, if he decides to run.
According to Ahmednasir, Raila's support from the executive, as a result of the Handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, gives him an unbeatable edge. This is because the executive powers bestowed upon him by President Uhuru Kenyatta make him a co-owner of the Jubilee Party's unenviable record.
Contrary to his previous views, Ahmednasir now believes that DP Ruto's isolation is a result of his own actions, which have created numerous political enemies both within and outside the government. The DP's constant blame game against Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and CS Fred Matiangi has further isolated him from the executive wing of the government.
As the 2022 presidential election draws near, Ahmednasir's remarks have sparked intense debate among Kenyans, with many questioning the DP's chances of winning the election.
