On November 14, 2019, a court case involving the estate of the late Fidel Odinga took a new turn after his widow, Lwam Bekele, asked for more time to settle the dispute with her opponents, Ida Odinga and Winnie Odinga.
Ms. Lwam, through her lawyer Rodger Sagana, requested the court to give the parties involved more time to see whether they will come to an agreement regarding the late Fidel's estate.
Justice Aggrey Muchelule granted the request and gave the parties two weeks to settle the succession dispute. The matter will be heard on November 27, 2019.
The family is embroiled in a bitter dispute after the Odingas accused Ms. Lwam of sidelining a set of twins that Fidel sired with another woman, Phoebe Akinyi Gweno.
Earlier, Justice Muchelule had ordered a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the twins on October 16.
