On a mission to make a difference in the lives of Kenyan children, 16-year-old Tahir Butt is using his passion for music to raise funds for cancer treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

According to the National Cancer Institute, there are 3,200 new cancer cases among children annually in Kenya. Tahir's project, which began as a school assignment, has evolved into a full-fledged fundraising campaign.

After losing his aunt to cancer two years ago, Tahir knew he wanted to make a positive impact in the fight against cancer. With the help of his parents and the Faraja Cancer Trust, he organized a private musical concert to raise funds for the treatment of children with cancer.

With a target of raising at least Sh200,000, Tahir has already surpassed Sh100,000 and plans to reach his goal before the project deadline. But his commitment to fundraising doesn't end there – he intends to continue raising funds even after the project is complete.

Tahir's ultimate goal is to open a cancer treatment centre in Kenya in memory of his aunt. For now, he is inspiring other young Kenyans to take action and make a positive impact in their communities.

“Do what you think is right, don’t overthink it. Push yourself to meet your targets no matter the odds, don’t give up. Work as hard as you can to achieve what you intend to achieve,” Tahir advises.
