On November 13, 2019, Fifa announced the appointment of Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, to a senior role as its new chief of global football development.
Wenger, 70, will be responsible for developing men's and women's football, as well as technical aspects of the sport, in his new position.
He will also be a member of the technical panel of the International Football Association Board and chairman of Fifa's technical study group.
Wenger left Arsenal in May 2018 after 22 years in charge, during which he won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.
"I very much look forward to taking on this extremely important challenge," Wenger said in a statement.
