Everest Park Estate, a housing project in Athi River, has received a clean bill of health from the National Building Inspectorate (NBI) after a thorough inspection.
On September 23, 2019, NBI boss Moses Nyakiongora inspected the estate and found that the rehabilitation and refurbishment of blocks 2B and 2F were satisfactorily addressed.
The estate, which features 240 units of one to three bedrooms, was built at a cost of Ksh.755 million and is funded by Shelter Afrique.
Initially, NBI had raised a safety concern in January 2018 after reports of cracks in the two blocks, prompting a structural audit to determine their habitability.
With the clearance, residents of the estate can now live in their homes without worrying about safety concerns.
