Published on November 13, 2019, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has called out Luos for their tribal voting patterns, which he believes cost Deputy President William Ruto's candidate, Mariga, the Kibra by-election.

Ichung'wah lamented the refusal of Luos to vote for Mariga, despite receiving thousands of shillings in goodwill from Mariga's camp.

The Kikuyu MP echoed Deputy President William Ruto's sentiments on Twitter, which exposed his fury and bitterness at the Kibra Luos who reportedly received huge sums of money from Ruto's camp but still voted for their own candidate, Imran Okoth.

Ichung'wah understands Ruto's pain, saying that the Luos' rigid political stands have isolated them from victorious political alliances.

"My friends from Kisumu are making themselves very predictable in politics and with that, they will continue to be isolated," Ichung'wah observed.

According to Ichung'wah, the Luos' refusal to vote for Mariga cost Ruto's camp a total of Ksh 1.2 Billion, which was set aside for campaign and voter motivation techniques.
