On November 13, 2019, Sebastien Migne's employment as head coach of Equatorial Guinea came as a welcome relief to cash-strapped Football Kenya Federation (FKF), easing the financial burden of paying his dues resulting from contract termination.

When FKF terminated Migne's contract in August, following Kenya's early exit from the CHAN tournament, the two parties agreed that the federation would pay his monthly salary until March 2020, provided he did not secure a new job by then.

However, the agreement stipulated that upon securing employment elsewhere, Migne would surrender the privileges two months after, which is now the case with his new role as Equatorial Guinea coach.

FKF Communications Manager Ken Okaka confirmed that the federation will pay Migne's dues until the end of next month as per the agreement.

"He started working with Equatorial Guinea effective November 2019, thus he will get his dues from the Kenyan federation until December. From January next year, everything will have been settled," Okaka said.

With Migne's new role settled, the remaining puzzle concerning coaches owed by FKF lies in the cases of Bobby Williamson and Adel Amrouche.

While FKF has appealed against the order to pay Williamson Sh55 million, they have no option but to pay Amrouche a whopping Sh108 million as ruled by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

FKF has asked the Ministry of Sports to clear Amrouche's money, but the strained relationship between the Ministry's PS Amb. Peter Kaberia and federation boss Nick Mwendwa has not helped the situation.

Meanwhile, Migne is currently in Kenya with his new team preparing for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania.
