Martin Oduor-Otieno Appointed EABL Board Chairman

East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) has announced a change in leadership, with Martin Oduor-Otieno taking over as the new Board chairman on January 1, 2020.

According to a statement, Oduor-Otieno is an accomplished business leader with a wealth of experience, having worked with Deloitte East Africa as Partner and KCB Group as Chief Executive Officer, among other senior private sector appointments.

He also served as the Permanent Secretary, Treasury in the Government of Kenya, and is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, with an Executive MBA from ESAMI/Maastricht and an undergraduate Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi.

Notably, Oduor-Otieno was among top Kenyan and American business leaders selected to facilitate a learning program between Harvard, United States International University (Africa), and the Aga Khan University School of Media and Communications (GSMC) last year.

He was appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director for EABL in 2016 and has earned a reputation as one of the highest-paid boardroom operators, with a total remuneration of Ksh. 26 million from sitting on several Boards, including South Africa's Standard Bank, Kenya Airways, British American Tobacco (Kenya), and EABL, last year.
