Published on November 13, 2019, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has identified three police officers involved in the brutalization of a student during a demonstration at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) on Monday.

The officers are police constables George Wathania, Kibet Chemipei, and Boniface Muthama.

National Police Service Commission Chairman Eliud Kinuthia addressed the media on Wednesday, stating that the fourth officer's identity was yet to be confirmed due to the complexity of the investigation.

‘The identification of the 4th police officer is delaying because it’s a process, and the angle of the image on what is happening needs assurance and should be right,’ said Kinuthia.

The three identified officers have been interdicted to allow for investigations before further disciplinary action is taken against them.

Chairman Kinuthia also mentioned that the conditions of the students who sustained injuries during the protests are not clear, but they are receiving treatment at different levels.
