On November 13, 2019, a Coca Cola truck overturned on the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway, spilling hundreds of crates of soda onto the ground.
Motorists captured the incident on video, which was shared online, showing members of the public scrambling to grab the sodas and running off with them.
As one motorist recorded the incident, he narrated, "Maze hii Kenya ni hatari, currently this is what is happening. I am on my way from Nairobi to Mombasa but unfortunately the Coca Cola lorry has had an accident, and you can see what is happening with Kenyans rushing and picking soda and running away. Wakenya wamekuwa crazy."
The video sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, with some joking about the country's economic situation and others questioning the priorities of the looters.
