Chelsea's New Discipline Rules: Fines for Late Training and More ¶
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has rolled out a list of fines for players who breach in-house rules, aimed at instilling discipline among his young players.
The most expensive fine on the list is KSh 2.5 million (£20,000) for players who are late for training at Cobham, a significant amount that reflects the importance of punctuality in the team.
According to the leaked rule sheet, dated Tuesday, August 27, any player who fails to travel back with the team's bus or misses any community service will have to pay a fine of £5,000.
Other fines on the list include KSh 130,000 (£1,000) for being late to the gym and taking or making a phone call during a team meal, as well as KSh 65,000 (£500) for every minute that a Chelsea player is late to a team meeting.
Agents are also reportedly not allowed to witness Chelsea's training unless permitted by Lampard, a move aimed at maintaining control over the team's activities.
Players are required to pay their fines within 14 days, after which any outstanding amount will be doubled.
Chelsea are currently doing well this season under Lampard's management, despite starting the Premier League season with a defeat against Manchester United.
