Siaya Police Officer Attacked, Disarmed of Loaded AK-47 Rifle

On November 13, 2019, a police officer from Siaya Police Station was attacked by two unknown individuals in Siaya, Kenya.

The officer, who was on his way to guard the County Commissioner's residence, was hit on the head with a blunt object and had his loaded AK-47 rifle stolen.

The incident occurred near the Red Cross office, where the officer was found bleeding by well-wishers who alerted his colleagues.

According to a police report, the officer's AK-47 rifle, with serial number 4849372, was loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition at the time of the attack.

The officer is currently receiving treatment at the Siaya County Referral Hospital.

A manhunt for the attackers has been launched.
