Kenyan singer Vivian has come out in defense of the Gengetone artists, who have been at the center of controversy in the music industry.
She believes that the artists are being unfairly criticized for their music, which some people consider 'immoral.'
According to Vivian, the Gengetone artists are just trying to make a living, just like everyone else.
'Condemand them is not good,' Vivian said in an interview. 'They are just trying to put food on the table, like you and I.'
She also slammed the Kenyan audience for being hypocritical, saying that they are quick to condemn others but slow to offer help.
'Heri yule mtu ambaye ako real unakutana naye anakuambia ukweli yake kuliko yule mtu ni hypocrite na hii tabia wakenya wengi wako nayo sana,' Vivian said.
However, Vivian also offered some advice to the Gengetone artists, saying that they should focus on creating wealth and not just hype.
'Wanafaa kuyenyekea kidogo watafute wale watu wamekoma kimziki kwa ushauri, sai they are young and they will not be young forever one day watataka kuwa mzazi wa mtu sai wanafaa kucreate wealth and not hype,' Vivian said.
She also encouraged the artists to look to the future and not get caught up in the present.
'Wanafaa pia waangalie siku za usoni,' Vivian said.
Despite the controversy surrounding the Gengetone artists, Vivian remains optimistic about their future.
'Better the devil you know than the angel you don't know,' Vivian said.
