The Harambee Starlets have shifted their focus to the Cecafa Women Championships, which will be held in Tanzania from November 16 to 24.
After their fourth-round Olympic qualifier loss in Zambia, the team arrived back in Nairobi on Tuesday and immediately left for Tanzania the following morning.
Starlets coach David Ouma expressed confidence in the team's spirit, stating that they are now focused on using all their efforts to proceed to the finals of the Cecafa tournament.
The team is grouped with Uganda, Ethiopia, and Djibouti in group B, while group A consists of Tanzania, Burundi, Zanzibar, and South Sudan.
The Starlets lost 3-2 on aggregate to Zambia's Shepolopolo, following a 1-0 loss in the second leg of the fourth-round 2020 Tokyo Olympic Qualifier at the Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Monday.
This loss officially locked out the Starlets from proceeding to the fifth and final round of the competition, as Zambia will now meet Cameroon in an attempt to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Despite their loss, the Starlets had previously braved through their matches to meet Zambia, successfully beating Malawi (5-3) and Ghana (1-0) in the first two rounds of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Olympic qualifiers.
