Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are expected to be released early this year, with the Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, promising to announce the results before Christmas.
According to sources, the marking of KCPE examination papers, which commenced at the beginning of the month, is expected to end this Friday. Examiners are working on the last Kiswahili Insha and English Composition scripts.
Unlike the lengthy marking process in previous years, the multiple choice papers were marked through the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system, which allowed for faster processing of results. Reports indicate that the processing of the results is complete, paving the way for the release of the results.
Speaking to journalists at the end of last month, Prof Magoha emphasized the importance of releasing the results early, saying, "Why would we keep them when they are ready?" He also stated that candidates should know the school they are going to by Christmas, enabling their parents to prepare them.
As the country awaits the release of the KCPE results, parents and students are holding their breath, hoping for a smooth and timely release of the results.
