Published on November 13, 2019, singer Akothee has cautioned single mothers against allowing bitterness to consume them after a breakup, thereby denying their children the love of a father.
According to Akothee, both partners in a relationship should take responsibility when things go south, and the woman should not make the child pay by denying him the love of a father.
Akothee shared her own experience with the father of her three girls, with whom she separated a few years after the girls were born.
Despite facing financial difficulties and struggling to provide for her children, Akothee chose not to despise their father for her misfortunes.
"I have raised my children knowing their father is alive, loved and respected even in his absence... I have never allowed the bitterness of single motherhood overwhelm me," Akothee said.
"When bills hit me left and right, I have always stayed sober & calm knowing very well, my children are not the cause of my suffering, neither is their father. Respect family values even when things go south!" Akothee advised.
