On November 12, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) responded to distress calls in Lucky Summer, Nairobi, and engaged in a shootout with two armed gangsters.
The gangsters, who were part of a group of three that had been terrorizing locals near Rehmart Supermarket, fired at the detectives upon sighting them.
However, the detectives were able to overpower the gangsters, killing two of them in the process.
The third gangster escaped and is currently being sought after by the authorities.
During the shootout, the detectives recovered one pistol with three live rounds and three mobile phones.
According to the DCI, the operation was a success, and the community can now breathe a sigh of relief.
