Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has made a strong case for Brazilian winger Willian to be given a new contract at the club.
According to a report on UK Sun, Lampard has tabled Willian's matter in front of the Chelsea board, reminding them that the Brazilian is an important member of his squad.
Willian's current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of the season, making him free to talk with any interested club when the January transfer window opens.
However, Lampard is impressed with Willian's performances this season and wants him to be given a new deal.
"I can’t get involved in the money, that’s up to the club, but I think everyone sees from what I’m saying, and I’m relying on him and picking him and he’s producing. I love him at this football club," Lampard explained, according to the report on UK Sun.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Juventus are said to be interested in signing Willian, with his former manager Maurizio Sarri reportedly wanting to have a reunion with the Brazilian.
