Manchester United have received a boost with midfielder Paul Pogba's ankle cast removed on Monday, marking a significant step in his recovery from a long-standing ankle issue.
The World Cup winner has been sidelined since the end of September after aggravating the injury in a Premier League match against Arsenal.
During the international break in October, Pogba traveled to Dubai for warm weather training, but was unable to overcome the niggle.
He subsequently had a cast fitted around his ankle to aid his recovery, and on Monday, he passed a major landmark in his rehabilitation by having the cast removed in Amsterdam.
According to his Instagram account, Pogba recorded the procedure, which involved the cast being taken off using a drill.
Although Pogba is still a few weeks away from making a playing return, he could be back in action as early as December, with the Manchester derby against City on December 7 a possible date for his return.
However, Pogba may face a battle to regain his starting spot, with Scott McTominay and Fred having formed a good partnership in the heart of the pitch in his absence.
