On Monday, November 11, disturbing clips emerged of police officers brutally beating a JKUAT student. The incident sparked widespread outrage and calls for action from the authorities.

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i addressed the disturbing clips, expressing his concern over the conduct of the officers. 'I have observed the events at JKUAT today with profound concern. The use of force by police is clearly outlined in the National Police Standing Orders,' he stated.

Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai subsequently ordered an investigation into the incident, which led to the identification and interdiction of the officers involved.

The JKUAT student's governing council had issued a notice of the protests, which were to be carried out in a peaceful manner outside the university's Gate B.
