On November 12, 2019, Sarah Wairimu opposed the application by defense to consolidate her case with that of businessman Peter Karanja in the Tob Cohen murder case.

However, High Court Judge Justice Stella Mutuku has since allowed the consolidation of the two cases after dismissing their objections.

The judge ruled that the facts on the two charge sheets are similar, paving the way for the consolidation of the cases.

Wairimu and Karanja have pleaded afresh to the consolidated charge sheet of murder, both denying the allegations of killing Tob Cohen.

Justice Mutuku has ordered the prosecution to supply the defense with a list of witnesses and all witness statements within the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, Peter Karanja's lawyer has raised concerns that the OCS Gilgil has threatened him with sure consequences if he visits his home in Gilgil, and that there are cops in court waiting to arrest him with a robbery with violence offense.

The prosecution has argued that there is a warrant of arrest in another court on a matter not related to this murder case, and that the police should be allowed to do their work.
