Freelance Journalist Shot 7 Times in Kasarani, Undergoes Surgery

On Tuesday, freelance journalist Richard Muema was shot seven times by a thug in Kasarani's Sunton area at his friend's shop.

According to reports, Muema was trying to rescue his friend who was being shot at by the armed thug, an ex-convict released from Kamiti Maximum Prison after completing his jail term.

Good Samaritans rushed Muema to St. Francis hospital in Kasarani, where he received first aid and was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for surgery to remove bullets from his body.

He is currently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a stable condition, along with his friend, shopkeeper Ulbanus Mutua.
