On November 12, 2019, Kamukunji Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Hassan shared the sad news of the passing of his aunt, Khadija, in Garissa County.
Khadija was the last surviving child of Yusuf's grandfather, Sultan Osman 'Gelle' Yusuf Magan, marking the end of an era for the family.
"Lost my aunty Khadija today. She passed on in Garissa. Also an end of era for my family, she was the last surviving child of my grandfather Sultan Osman 'Gelle' Yusuf Magan," the MP disclosed in a tweet.
Yusuf has been the MP for Kamukunji since 2011 and has a diverse background in humanitarian work and journalism, having previously worked for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and various media outlets.
