Published on November 12, 2019, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been given the public backing of the club's hierarchy, despite the team's poor recent form.
Emery's position has come under scrutiny after two wins in Arsenal's last 10 league games, with the latest setback coming in a 2-0 defeat at high-flying Leicester City on Saturday.
However, the club's head of football Raul Sanllehi and managing director Vinai Venkatesham have no immediate plans to make a change of manager, stating that they 'firmly believe Unai is the right man for the job.'
They expressed their disappointment with the team's results and performances, saying, 'We share the frustration with our fans, Unai, players and all our staff as they are not at the level we want or expect. Things need to improve to meet our objectives for the season.'
Emery, 48, was appointed as Arsene Wenger's successor in May 2018 and has been working to turn the team's fortunes around.
The team currently has 17 points from 12 games and is eight points adrift of the Champions League places.
