On Monday, a disturbing video emerged of police officers brutally beating a student from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Published on November 12, 2019, the video sparked widespread outrage and calls for action from top government officials.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has demanded swift action against the officers involved in the incident, while Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Embakassi East MP Babu Owino have strongly condemned the brutality.
Representatives of the JKUAT students' body protested at Juja Police Station on Tuesday, demanding justice for the victim.
Two of the officers identified are from Makongeni and Juja Police Stations.
