The Africa FinTech Festival 2020 is set to take place in Mauritius, with the event scheduled for May 2020 and expected to attract 2,000 delegates.

According to Michal Szymanski, CEO of Mauritius Africa FinTech Hub (MAFH), the decision to host the event is a vote of confidence in Mauritius' growing FinTech sector.

"The vote of confidence we received by the other member countries in Africa to host this event shows that Mauritius is making waves in the FinTech arena on the continent," Szymanski said.

MAFH's vision is to promote Mauritius as the FinTech Innovation Hub for Africa, and hosting the Africa FinTech Festival 2020 is a key part of this strategy.

The event will provide a platform for delegates to learn about the Mauritian and African FinTech start-ups, the Mauritius business environment, and to experience the location itself.

MAFH aims to promote the ultimate objective of Africans investing in Africa through events such as the Africa FinTech Festival 2020.

The festival will highlight the ideas, trends, innovations, and key debates on wide-ranging issues from Regtech to borderless operations and game-changing business models.

The event objectives include showcasing pan-African FinTech innovations and start-ups, facilitating linkages and encouraging partnerships across start-ups and member associations, and providing opportunities for learning and experiential workshops.
