Published on November 12, 2019, Tanzanian singer Ali Kiba has released a new song that has left fans speculating about its meaning. The song, dubbed 'Mshumaa', appears to be dedicated to his estranged Kenyan wife, Amina Khalef.

Ali Kiba, 31, and Amina, 24, tied the knot in April 2018 in two lavish wedding ceremonies held in Mombasa and Dar es Salaam. However, the couple has been facing issues in their marriage, with Ali Kiba confirming in September that they were having problems and had sent Amina back to her parents' home in Mombasa.

“Honestly, in the recent past, we had disagreed but my mother solved it. She told us that marriage life needs patience and has a lot of challenges, and the devil doesn’t like people in the union,” Ali Kiba said in a previous interview.

Despite the challenges, Ali Kiba's new song 'Mshumaa' is a heartfelt plea to Amina to return to his life. In the song, he sings, “Nakumiss…Tena! Tutonana, Hata Mungu akipanga leo nikufe kesho, tutaonana tena” (I miss you…if God plans I die tomorrow, we will meet again).

“Labda nikukumbushe, Nilipokuvisha pete, Ulisema machache, Hauniachi mpaka nife. Uwepo wako ndio ulikua wangu uzima” (Let me remind you, when I put a ring on you, you said you’ll never leave me until I die. Your presence was my being).

The couple welcomed their first-born child - a boy - in February this year.
