On November 12, 2019, Ethic Entertainment's song 'Tarimbo' caused a stir among Kenyans and the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) after its release.

The song's hook contained harsh words, with Rekles saying,

"Mimi hupenda chapa na Tarimbo mimi huchapa na nakanyaga na namwaga bila hata permission (i nut without permission)"

KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua took swift action to ensure the song's vulgar language was not accessible to anyone, citing the need to maintain KFCB standards.

Following the backlash, Ethic Entertainment was forced to apologize to the public, stating, "We are remorseful..."

However, their apology came too late, as YouTube had already pulled down the song. The move led to a warning from YouTube, and Ethic Entertainment took to social media to assure their fans that they had more content in the works, despite losing a big project.

Hopefully, this incident serves as a lesson to Ethic Entertainment and other Gengetone artists: creating music is okay, but music that is not offensive is essential.
