On October 26th, 2019, Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones performed in Kisumu, a city on the shores of Lake Victoria. The show was reportedly a success, but it was marred by an incident involving a valuable item.

According to initial reports, a fan snatched a Ksh 60,000 chain from Khaligraph Jones during the performance. The rapper was said to have left the stage to mingle with fans, only to return and announce that he was missing his chain.

However, in a surprising twist, Khaligraph Jones later clarified that he had not been robbed. Instead, he revealed that he had voluntarily given the chain to a fan as a gesture of goodwill.

"It wasn’t stolen and it wasn’t [worth] Sh60,000 like reported previously. I was generous and I gave it out," Khaligraph Jones said in a statement.
