On November 12, 2019, a controversy surrounding Ethic Entertainment's song Tarimbo erupted, with the song being banned for allegedly glorifying rape.

Popular musician Odi wa Muranga, a member of the Boondocks gang, has come out in defense of the song, terming the ban as a case of being 'misunderstood'.

Speaking to Mpasho, Odi wa Muranga stated, 'People's understanding is just different. Everybody's impression is different and besides Gengetone is still new people should just be patient with it.'

He urged the general public to forgive and give Ethic Entertainment another chance to redeem themselves.

Interestingly, Odi wa Muranga also revealed that he and his gang, Boondocks, used to rap back in 2015 before switching to Gengetone.

He also addressed his pink hair choice, citing that he wanted to be different from his gang since they all have dreadlocks.

When asked about his favorite color, Odi wa Muranga proudly stated, 'pink is my FAVORITE colour.'
