On November 12, 2019, Khaligraph Jones was at the center of a controversy surrounding a stolen chain in Kisumu.
However, the 'Me Siogopi' rapper has come out to clear his name, stating that he gave the chain away to a fan during the event.
'It wasn't stolen and it wasn't worth Sh60,000 like reported previously. I was generous and I gave it out,' he said in an interview.
Speaking about his track 'Me Siogopi', Khaligraph Jones clarified that the song was not a diss but rather a reflection of his honesty.
'In my song 'Mi Siogopi', I was not throwing shade at anybody. The thing with me is that if I have something to say, I'm not going to sugarcoat, I'm gonna say it straight up,' he explained.
When asked about his upcoming project, Khali Cartel 5, Khaligraph Jones revealed that he is already working on it, having recently dropped Khali Cartel 3.
He also spoke about his criteria for selecting rappers for his rap cyphers, stating that he scouts for talent and does his research.
Looking back at his career, Khaligraph Jones recalled an incident in 2012 when he was booed off the stage, but instead of being discouraged, he drew strength from the experience.
'Sometimes, you have to go through such experiences to have a story to tell people. If I was not to go through what I went through, then I might not have been the OG that I am now,' he said.
