As the impeachment inquiry continues, a long-running feud between two of President Trump's top advisers has come to a head in a court fight that has exposed deep-seated rivalries within the White House.

Mick Mulvaney, the acting chief of staff, and John Bolton, the former national security adviser, have been at odds for months over the president's efforts to pressure Ukraine into providing incriminating information about Democrats.

According to testimony in the impeachment inquiry, Bolton described the pressure campaign as a 'drug deal' that he wanted no part of, while Mulvaney was facilitating the effort.

Their clash is just one of many inside the Trump administration that has spilled out into public in recent days, including a memoir by Nikki Haley, the president's former ambassador to the United Nations, which accuses Rex Tillerson and John Kelly of conspiring against her while in office.

Tillerson and Kelly have both disputed Haley's account, with Tillerson saying that he never took any actions to undermine the president and Kelly saying that Haley was rarely a participant in his meetings.
