On November 11, 2019, a gruesome discovery was made in Mwingi, Kenya, when a body was found in a car at the Mwingi Livestock Market.
The victim, identified as Eunice Kiema, a lecturer at the Mwingi Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) campus, was found with several stab wounds and part of her legs burnt.
According to Police Commander Peter Mutuma, the scene suggested that the killers intended to burn the car and possibly the body as well, as a matchbox was found at the scene.
Investigations have commenced, with officers from the DCI office in Mwingi working together with local police to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Mwingi residents have condemned the murder and are calling for increased security in the town to prevent such incidents.
