Harambee Starlets' Tokyo Olympics Dream Cut Short ¶
Kenya's Harambee Starlets suffered a 1-0 slim defeat to Zambia's Shepolopolo at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on November 11, 2019, to bow out of the CAF Women Olympic qualifiers.
The Copper Queens took the lead in the 57th minute through Lushomo Mweemba, who unleashed a powerful free-kick to beat Annette Kundu, the Kenyan goalkeeper.
The defeat marked the end of Harambee Starlets' dream of making a maiden appearance in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, as they suffered a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Zambia's Shepolopolo.
The south African nation will now face the aggregate winner between Cameroon and Ivory Coast in the final qualifying round.
Kenya made only one change from the side that drew at Kasarani, with Janet Bundi making way for Gentrix Shikangwa.
