On Sunday, November 10, 2019, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier led the celebrations after his team thrashed AFC Leopards 4-1 in the Mashemeji derby at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.
The 70-year-old chairman, who has been at the helm of the club for the past decade, was visibly pleased with the outcome and decided to let loose and dance to an Ohangla tune.
Wearing a pair of jeans, a matching shirt, and cap, Rachier rolled back the years as he danced for a full minute, captured on a trending video.
The celebration was a welcome break for Rachier, who has been dealing with the challenges of Gor Mahia's financial struggles since the withdrawal of sponsor SportPesa left a Sh65 million hole in the club's annual budget.
The team's players have gone without pay for three months, and the club has struggled to honour continental matches, often relying on government assistance.
The win propelled Gor Mahia to the top of the 18-team league standings after seven rounds of matches, putting them on course to win a fourth title on the trot.
