Published on November 11, 2019, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyon'go has expressed his thoughts on Raila Odinga's potential presidential run in 2022.

According to Nyon'go, Raila's silence on the matter is understandable, given his past election defeats. He has lost three presidential elections, and Nyon'go questions the point of vying for the presidency if the outcome will not be a win.

"One of the reasons why Raila is not talking about the presidency is because he has lost elections three times. So what is the point of going to elections even if you get the vote, you will not be declared the winner," Nyon'go said.

Notably, Nyon'go also expressed his support for the amendment of the constitution to allow for a parliamentary system, arguing that it would ensure democratic presidential elections.

"We have seen that the presidential elections doesn’t bring democratic elections, let us do something else. Let’s wait the BBI to come out with a report for us to discuss it," he added.
