Armed Robbers Narrowly Escape Death in Thika Shootout

On Monday morning, a group of armed robbers in Thika faced off against the police in a deadly shootout.

According to the police, the robbers are believed to be part of a larger gang that has been terrorizing residents in the area.

Thika sub-county police boss Beatrice Kiraguri said that police officers recovered a stolen motorcycle, which is now in their possession.

"Our officers recovered the motorcycle which they had stolen and is now in our possession. We ask members of the public who have in the recent past lost their motorcycles to come forward and check this out," she said.

On November 11, 2019, Nairobi News reported that the robbers escaped from the scene by rushing and jumping into River Chania.
