Agnes Kagure, a 44-year-old entrepreneur, has come a long way from her humble beginnings in Nyeri County. Born into a family of 11 siblings, Kagure's parents struggled to make ends meet, forcing her to move to Nairobi at the age of 19 to escape poverty.
With determination and hard work, Kagure built a successful career in the insurance industry, becoming a unit manager and eventually starting her own agency, which won top awards for three consecutive years.
Today, Kagure has over 20 years of experience in executive management, real estate, hospitality, and the pharmaceutical industry. She is also a devoted philanthropist, with a foundation that aims to 'Turn Potentials into Possibilities.'
When asked about her greatest challenges, Kagure cited overcoming poverty and creating a successful future for her family and the charities she supports.
As a mother of two, Kagure prioritizes her family and faith, waking up at 5am each day to spend time in devotion. She credits her husband for giving her the freedom to pursue her passions and values her role models, including Professor Wangari Maathai and her mother.
With numerous achievements to her name, including being recognized as a goodwill ambassador by the Thai King, Kagure is an inspiration to many. When asked what she would change about her profession, she expressed a desire to create conditions that make it easier for women to ascend to leadership.
