Kasarani Shop Robbery: Ex-Convict and Second Suspect Identified

On November 11, 2019, detectives made a breakthrough in the Kasarani shop robbery case, identifying two suspects involved in the incident.

According to sources close to the investigation, the shooter is an ex-convict who was recently released from Kamiti Maximum Prison.

Police have launched a manhunt for the second suspect, with the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirming the development on Twitter.

“Detectives have already commenced investigations into this matter with the ultimate aim of bringing all those involved to book,” the DCI tweeted.

Two victims, Ulbanus Mutua and Richard Muema, were shot during the robbery, with Muema being shot seven times after he tried to secure Mutua who had been shot twice.

Muema is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Kenyatta National Hospital, while Mutua is reported to be in a stable condition.
