Former President Daniel Moi has been re-admitted to Nairobi Hospital for a routine medical checkup, just days after his release from the facility.

According to Lee Njiru, Moi's press secretary, the former head of state was admitted to the VIP wing of the hospital on Saturday, November 9, to undergo normal medical checkups.

Njiru assured Kenyans that Moi's health was stable and that he was alert, being attended to by a professional medical team led by his personal physician, Dr. David Silverstein.

Just two days after his discharge from the hospital on November 7, Moi was readmitted for further checkups and treatment.

His family had previously downplayed concerns over his health, assuring Kenyans that he was in good health.

On November 7, Moi was discharged from the hospital after spending two weeks at the facility.

Lee Njiru appealed to the press fraternity not to cause unwarranted alarm by exploiting the credulity of the masses, adding that medical bulletins would be issued whenever necessary.
