Women Allied to Raila, Ruto Trade Insults in Public ¶
On November 9, 2019, Garissa woman representative Anab Gure unleashed a tirade of abuses at a public event in Uasin Gishu, targeting ODM leader Raila Odinga.
She questioned, “May the devil be rebuked. This old man named Baba, I wonder whose father he is. He is old yet is not (unprintable) He should go back to his hometown. Who does he think he is? Why is he not growing old?”
She also stated, “He is saying Kibra belongs to him, but we know Kibra belongs to all Kenyans and not his bedroom. We shall take him to Bondo where he shall age gracefully and die.”
Millie Odhiambo, Suba North Member of Parliament, fired back at Anab Gure on her social media pages, stating, “There is a woman who has abused Hon Raila Odinga calling him “shetani”(the devil), I thought she was a Member of County Assembly (MCA) but was shocked to learn she is the Women Rep of Garissa County.
She further advised Anab Gure, “Look for your agemates and desist from abusing Raila,” and warned, “You are 8 months pregnant, let’s not forget that.”
Esther Passaris, Nairobi woman representative, also took a swipe at Anab Gure, stating, “I’m very disappointed by Anab’s utterances. It was wrong of her to abuse Raila. She should first speak in parliament because at no point has she ever raised a point there, before running to disrespect Raila,”
Laikipia Women Representative, Cate Waruguru, also hurled unpalatable sentiments to Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, saying the governor is yet to give birth even after her wedding to Lawyer Waiganjo.
She stated, “Let me remind Waiguru that just because she was fronted by the Jubilee party, it doesn’t mean she is the Wangu Makeri of the Mt.Kenya region,” and dared the governor to resign from her gubernatorial seat and bring an ODM candidate to vie for the seat and test whether the party will win.
