With the rise of electronic money services, transferring cash from M-Pesa to DTB or any other financial institution has become a convenient and reliable option. As of November 11, 2019, the Lipa na M-Pesa option allows you to transfer cash at any given time.
DTB customers can access their cash conveniently by following a straightforward procedure. To send money from your phone to your DTB account, you need the DTB paybill number (516600). Here's how to do it:
- Go to the M-Pesa menu
- Select Lipa na M-Pesa
- Followed by Pay Bill
- Enter Business No. 516600
- Enter your DTB account number as the Account No.
- Enter the amount you want to deposit
- Enter your PIN
- Confirm and then send
Once you're through, you will receive a transaction confirmation message from both Safaricom and Diamond Trust Bank.
For those who want to withdraw money from DTB to M-Pesa, the service is available through the use of a USSD (short) code. However, before you can use the service, you need to first register for mobile banking or internet banking with your branch. This will enable you to get the short-code that will allow you to move money from your bank into your M-Pesa conveniently. The DTB short code is 385#.
Simply dial the Diamond Trust Bank short code and follow the instructions.
