Published on November 11, 2019, a church fundraiser in Nyandarua turned chaotic when Woman Rep Faith Gitau clashed with Nominated MP Maina Kamanda.
The trouble started when Kamanda criticized Gitau for being accompanied to the function by a rowdy group.
"This is a church and must be respected," Kamanda said.
He then quickly concluded the donations session and led his group to storm out of Kiandege AIC church in Ndaragwa sub-county.
Earlier, Kamanda had denied rumors that he is eyeing a seat in the county.
"I don’t want any seat here not even that of MCA," he said.
The church pastor Samuel Gachango later apologized for the incident.
It was the second time Kamanda has faced a hostile colleague in public functions, following a similar incident last month in Laikipia county.
Before the clash, Kamanda and other leaders had urged the Nyandarua County government to stop blaming the national government for poor producer prices.
They argued that the sector had been devolved, and the county leadership should take responsibility for the poor prices.
