On November 11, 2019, Bongo superstar Ali Kiba clarified his recent rant on social media castigating Diamond Platnumz for inviting him to perform at Wasafi Festival.
Speaking to the press in Dar ahead of the festival, Ali Kiba explained that he harbors no ill will against the Wasafi boss, Diamond Platnumz. He noted that he respects Diamond for his effort in the music industry and urged fans to keep supporting his perceived rival.
Ali Kiba expressed his appreciation for Diamond's music and encouraged fans to continue supporting him. He said, “Nafurahia sana muziki wa Diamond naomba muendelee kumsapoti kwa sababu ni msanii mzuri, anafanya kazi nzuri na anawakilisha nchi yetu,” which translates to, “I really enjoy Diamond's music and I urge you to continue supporting him because he is a good artist, he does good work and he represents our country.”
Ali Kiba explained that he turned down Diamond's offer to perform at the festival because he has aspirations of his own that he is working on. He also noted that he blasted Diamond because the ‘Kanyaga’ singer was being childish.
Ali Kiba announced his forthcoming Alikiba Unforgettable Tour to celebrate 17 years in the game. The tour will have three main components: Ujenzi wa Ndoto (Dreams Construction) for youth, a Medical Camp, and a concert.
