November 10, 2019 - Liverpool took a significant step towards their first Premier League title in 30 years by defeating Manchester City 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

The European champions started strongly, with Fabinho and Mohamed Salah scoring two goals in the first 13 minutes. Sadio Mane sealed City's fate with a diving header early in the second half.

Manchester City's defensive issues, particularly without injured Aymeric Laporte, were exposed as Liverpool scored with their first two attacks of the game. The visitors were furious about a non-penalty decision that led to the opening goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being hit on the arm in the box.

Despite their chances, Manchester City were unable to get back into the game, with Liverpool being ruthless in their attack. A pinpoint cross by Andy Robertson was headed home by Salah, and City's best chance of a reply was dragged wide by Sergio Aguero.

Any hope of a City comeback was eliminated when Mane scored with a diving header six minutes into the second half. Liverpool's win has opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the table, with Manchester City down in fourth and nine points behind.
